NEWARK FLOWSERVE RESERVES came out on top in the local derby at Bingham Town Reserves, scoring five times against the team that has conceded the second fewest goals in the Notts Senior League Second Division behind only The Highwaymen themselves.
The Lowfields outfit fell behind after a sloppy start, but fought back with a nap hand before the home side got a further late consolation effort.
An immediate reaction to the early concession saw a trademark long throw from man of the match Alex Hales met by Will Nelson who managed to divert the ball home for the equaliser.
The remainder of the half was equally contested, but the second period saw the in-form Tyler Martin give the men in orange the lead for the first time with a typically composed finish.
A third soon followed as Joe Bilton cut inside and fired in a powerful shot which Ed Munton deflected home to give the Flowserve second string their 100th league goal of the campaign.
Munton added his second and his side’s fourth before Hales rounded off his best performance in an orange shirt this season by getting on the scoresheet himself to leave the Flowserve side three points off the top of the table with a game in hand.
